Hertz 3rd Quarter Rental Revenues Top 1.36B

PARK RIDGE, N.J. -- In 2004's third quarter, Hertz Corp.'s car rental revenues totaled $1.363 billion, according to the company's filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In comparison, Hertz's car rental revenues during the same period in 2003 totaled $1.225 billion.

Hertz's car rental revenues for the first nine months of 2004 totaled $3.604 billion. In 2003, car rental revenues for the first three quarters totaled $3.197 billion.

Hertz Corp. is a subsidiary of Ford Motor Co.

The quarterly report also indicated that during the first three quarters of 2004, Hertz purchased Ford vehicles at a cost of about $3.5 billion. Under various repurchase programs, Hertz sold Ford vehicles back to the manufacturer or its affiliates for about $2.5 billion.
