Hertz Removes Blackout Dates for Coupon Use

March 17, 2005

PARK RIDGE, N.J. -- Hertz announced it is lifting all blackout-date restrictions on its 2005 dollars-off coupons for rentals at corporately owned airport and suburban locations in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The no-blackout policy extends through the end of 2005.

"Our customers told us that they loved our coupons but hated that the coupons weren't redeemable during peak vacation travel periods -- precisely when our customers' need for a rental car may be the greatest," said Frank Camacho, Hertz staff vice president for marketing and sales.

The no-blackout-dates policy applies to all non-expired Hertz dollars-off certificates for the applicable date span of the coupon. Customers with existing dollars-off certificates or offers that include a blackouts-may-apply warning can now book the reservation for any date and receive the discount for as long as the certificate or offer is valid.
